Basic Obedience
A “first-time” class or graduates of Puppy Kindergarten
- Class meets for one hour per week for 6 weeks.
- Introduction to basic obedience skills.
- Skills taught include controlled leash walking, sit, down, wait at doorways, come when called (recall), and introduction of Go to Mat
- Commands are taught in a fun, pet-friendly manner and gently enforced to ensure reliable performance.
- Additional skills taught at the instructor’s discretion
- Gear needed: six-foot leash, treats, 30-foot cord for recall.
- Please wear athletic-type shoes
- Harnesses and retractable leashes are not allowed
Intermediate Obedience
Intermediate Obedience
- Class meets for one hour per week for six weeks
- Prerequisite: Basic obedience class at Augusta or another reputable dog training school.
- Emphasis on reliable performance with one command response
- Introduction to off-leash work
- Preparation class for Canine Good Citizen Certification and Therapy Dog Certification.
- Introduction to off-leash work.
- Preparation class for Canine Good Citizen Certification and Therapy Dog Certification.
- Gear needed: six-foot leash, treats, 30-foot chord for recall.
- Harnesses are not allowed.
- Please wear athletic-type shoes
